Evening of the 18th of October

#Reflection
The Suns
18th Sun of the 10th Moon Cycle

I'm mid rehearsal but I have very few next steps in the show after this. I get to play Mark soon after these next few scenes.

I'm grateful I get to be a part of this production. Everyone is so talented and skilled. Luke as a director is enabling, empowering, and direct - at least more direct as we move closer to the Dress Rehearsals upcoming.

He started with gentle questions, but has since moved to asking for specifics which I prefer somewhat. Though I think it's because I feel like I'm not making enough choices, and this takes the accountability from me to him which is comforting. Though some of his choices throw me off.

My work with Pete remains to be awkward. I want him to be more of like . . . what we also picture Mark as? Like nervous and uncomfortable. At the moment I've been more masculine which Luke said he liked at the time but I am searching for more definitive character in him, something like his mannerisms being tall, straight-laced, and fast-paced. I'll have to take some moments to explore it. I'll say the lines a few million different ways and find something playful.

Something about this dance room, the dark windows feel like a hug around us - our cast. We're having a pretty darn good rehearsal. It feels like this piece means a lot to everybody here. It makes all the difference I think.
